While this particular role has been historically a challenge to fill, it has proven to be a very enjoyable role for the incumbent. The client is essentially a professional provider of value-added software and services to a select clientele throughout Australia and New Zealand. The focus of the role will cover all network components from the desktop to the server, ensuring reliability, technical currency, user stability and naturally satisfaction, appropriateness to user requirements, and cost effectiveness. There will be internal as well as external consulting. This is then the management and maintenance of all communication devices, cabling and infrastructure, including overall responsibility for the desktop environment and operating system management, including all hardware and software issues. Quite a handful!
To win this role you will need a wealth of talent, including commercial experience with the latest MS gear; hopefully exchange server and SharePoint, Linux, VOIP, VMware and Cisco. It’s a lot to ask so we are taking applications from candidates who are short of the technicalities but high on “the right stuff”.
Naturally we will be needing excellent communication skills, and not just in the technical sense. Your ability to communicate over long AND short distances is important, so your written and spoken skills are of paramount importance.
Tertiary qualifications are preferred but not essential, though we would expect a minimal of TAFE equivalent qualifications, with lots of commercial experience.
