Applications Support Consultant

This is a new role for the company, and a very important one. Were seeking a person with excellent interpersonal skills to support a software suite that has proven to be quite valuable to the mining industry. Traditionally we have done well with people from Help Desk backgounds, software developers, and trainers-indeed it encompasses all of these traits.

We have more details at hand-please do contact David Christie for some more detail-we will post more details it comes to hand.

Engineering Manager

So, well done. you’ve been an excellent Engineer, long qualified. You’ve encountered the spectrum from DC to daylight, seen some sparks, software, and have traversed the ISO layer over the last decade or so. You’re good with CAD gear, Projects, and technical wordsmithing. Ready for the big chair ? I have an Engineering Manager role on-no sponsorship as yet, but if you’d like an career evaluation, you may just well be up to the task. Of course if you have a background as a Manager, Engineering, Analogue and Digital then meet your new best friend at david@careercafe.com.au(Radio telecomms, Quality Control, supervisory)

Project Manager

Think quick-six month contract for a PM with technical and business background, esp Oracle and MS. Details follow but update us with your CV now!

Change Management !

This client brief is smaller than the Victoria Secrets’ catalogue page 12- however we have a contract available commencing soon in the Change Management area. Now, most clients have no idea what this means so they have to see it on the resume to know what it is, and then when you start the contract it changes. (I gather they are supposed to do that). Please send your resume and put me out of my misery-I’m not good with change, even small change. If I was to guess what the role entailed, it would be Business Analysys with a keen eye on the OHSW aspects of a burgening mine operation, but thats me.

Systems Consultant

While this particular role has been historically a challenge to fill, it has proven to be a very enjoyable role for the incumbent. The client is essentially a professional provider of value-added software and services to a select clientele throughout Australia and New Zealand. The focus of the role will cover all network components from the desktop to the server, ensuring reliability, technical currency, user stability and naturally satisfaction, appropriateness to user requirements, and cost effectiveness. There will be internal as well as external consulting. This is then the management and maintenance of all communication devices, cabling and infrastructure, including overall responsibility for the desktop environment and operating system management, including all hardware and software issues. Quite a handful!
To win this role you will need a wealth of talent, including commercial experience with the latest MS gear; hopefully exchange server and SharePoint, Linux, VOIP, VMware and Cisco. It’s a lot to ask so we are taking applications from candidates who are short of the technicalities but high on “the right stuff”.
Naturally we will be needing excellent communication skills, and not just in the technical sense. Your ability to communicate over long AND short distances is important, so your written and spoken skills are of paramount importance.
Tertiary qualifications are preferred but not essential, though we would expect a minimal of TAFE equivalent qualifications, with lots of commercial experience.
Interested? For a personalised response, and a full job specification, please send your resume to the attention of David Christie FIMC, MRCSA, Principal Human Resources Consultant, in the first instance.
